Just The Right Size
By: Russell H.

A Corvair is just the right size for a little kid to learn about cars. We finally had a warm enough day to work in the garage yesterday, so I opened the hood on the 1961 Monza to get acquainted with it. My two-year-old son wanted to see the motor, and unlike other cars, I don't have to pick him up to show him the engine compartment. I pointed at each component and told him the name. He then touched the parts and repeated the name. "Distributor" is a mouthful at his age. It's good to start the kids young. My seven-year-old likes washing and polishing the cars, but isn't as interested in the mechanical aspect. He hasn't warmed up to the latest acquisition; he may still be mad about my selling the 1963 Nova SS to buy the 1961 Monza club coupe.

The 1961 needs some work, but it appears to be nothing major. I'll try to get to it as time allows.
