Corvair Magic

Hello everyone, I'm a new blogger on this site. I'll write about different aspects of Corvair ownership and history.
I bought my first Corvair, a 1964 Monza convertible, three years ago, so I'm somewhat new to the Corvair hobby. I've owned, and still own other vintage Chevrolets. I just sold a 1963 Chevy II Nova SS, and I have a 1970 Chevelle Malibu. Both are nice cars, but they don't cast a spell over me the way my Corvair does. I've had other two other Novas, two Impalas, and a Caprice.
Simply stated, my Corvair is the nicest driving, best handling car I've owned. Driving this car is addictive. I get a wonderful high when I drive it. The high isn't caused by the Corvair being a cool old car, it's caused by the way the car drives.
I feel like the car is part of me, like it anticipates my movements and desires. It takes turns and makes lane changes so naturally. I know it's a machine, made on an assembly line, but it comes alive, or makes me feel more alive when I drive it. My Corvair has more personality than any other car I've owned.
I respect the car's age and condition, it's a 48,000 mile original car, so I don't push it, but on the road it's eager to please. Do other Corvair owners feel as I do about their cars? |

Welcome to the world of blogging, Russell! The Corvair is the most unique American automobile ever mass-produced and so, I think, we are all under its spell. |
