1960s Delco AM Radio Bulb Changing Adventure
By: Eric M

AM Delco BackThe light bulb has been out in my AM radio as long as I've had the Monza (5+ years now). Today I finally decided to fix it.. so I pulled the radio from the car only to find that you don't need to pull the radio from the car to change it's bulb. Ouch! You just gotta get under the dash and pull out the "cylinder" with the wire going into it in the back of the radio. Bulbs can be found at any auto parts store (1853). It's not hard to pull the radio but... arg.

Here's a pic of the radio in question (not mine). See the wire going in the back? Carefully pry the cylinder which it goes into and that is what houses the bulb.
